About Nickels Restaurant
The first Nickels restaurant, which opened about 25 years ago, was the brainchild of pop star Celine Dion. The eatery grew to a dozen locations that serve platefuls of pasta, ribs, and pizza. The popular smoked-meat sandwich piles a small mountain of sliced protein atop rye bread, and housemade beef burgers tuck into the bun with slices of cheddar cheese and bacon. Earlier in the day, the chefs flip pancakes on the griddle and fold crepes around bananas slathered in a chocolate-hazelnut spread. The menu displays a number of healthy choices, denoted by a red heart symbol, including vegetarian omelets and grilled teriyaki salmon wraps.
