Since 2014, Enlighten technology has been removing unwanted tattoos in short sessions by creating an explosion of the small molecules of ink under the skin, thus tarnishing the design until it disappears. Several patients have compared the pain level to that of an elastic band slapping against the skin. Nevertheless, local anaesthetic is available upon request. Patients notice improvements right after the first session and visible results after the second session (see photos).
