During the tour, passengers gaze at scenic views of Toronto skyline or help the crew with their daily tasks such as raise and lower the sails or spin the helm. The crew set off the cannon to mark the end of each tour. The Kajama departs from Harbourfront Centre two to three times daily, from early May through Labor Day. This coupon is valid for one adult, child or senior admission.
Great Lakes Schooner
The Kajama, three-masted, gaff-rigged 164-foot schooner, casts the same silhouette as it did 80 years ago. First a trade ship between Spain and Norway, it now sails on Lake Ontario. The Great Lakes Schooner Company has restored this German-built schooner to its maiden splendor, but they also retrofitted it for its daily tours with such amenities as a licensed bar and galley where cooks bring selections from their menu of pub fare to life.
Though the Kajama serves as the crown jewel of the fleet, the company also owns other ships that are as impressive as their famous sister, such as the Obsession III or Challenge. Great Lakes Schooner rents out their fleet for corporate cruises, weddings and pirate-school reunions.
